The principal, Doug Smith, M.D. (see CV) devoted three years training in Orthopedic Surgery at the Mayo Clinic and four years training in radiology at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology. His orthopedic surgery experience provided a surgical perspective that allows him to anticipate your surgical needs. Although he is not a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon, he has been the responsible surgeon and has performed or observed many orthopedic procedures.

Dr. Smith has written extensively about orthopedic MRI, spine imaging, and hand and wrist MRI. Dr. Smith has published over 35 journal articles book chapters and is an internationally respected expert in orthopedic MRI and musculoskeletal imaging. MSKIC seeks out musculoskeletal radiologists with similar backgrounds with customer service commitment.
